HOME VISITING: Being a better parent

Share:

Whether you’re expecting or you have a newborn, being a parent is extremely rewarding! We are living in a modern era, so we are fortunate enough to see all kinds of parents. There are couples, single moms or dads and everything in between. One thing that is for sure is that parenting can be challenging. Fortunately, what’s great about living in modern times is that there are plenty of services available to assist us.

Our Home Visiting program is here for parents that need help. Here’s everything you need to know.

  • You choose: When you dial 2-1-1, we will be able to get you in contact with a home visitor. Once you have a home visitor, they will stick with you during pregnancy, all the way up until your baby is two years old. Our professionals consist of trained nurses and support specialists. For your first meeting, your home visitor will meet you wherever you’d like. If you aren’t comfortable having them come to your home right off the bat, that is okay. The two of you can plan to go to a cafe or anywhere else. Home visitors are here to give you parenting tips and help you whenever you need it.
  • Learn about childcare: When you are in contact with a home visitor, they are able to give you parenting guidance. If you are pregnant, they are a good resource for determining what foods are healthy and safe to eat for your baby. Learn what habits to break or how to prepare your household too. Once your little one enters the world, your home visitor can help you with breastfeeding, making sure your baby has a safe environment to sleep in, and much more.

The home visiting service lets you know that it is okay to ask for help. As a parent, there is going to be a lot on your plate. Take advantage of the home visiting program and prioritize being the best parent you can be.
