This year has been full of adjustments, and our Healthy Families Delaware (HFD) home visitors have been excellent champions in supporting families by building strong relationships, connecting families with resources, and engaging families with creative activities. We’ve received consistent guidance from Healthy Families America in navigating this unexpected work environment. In doing so, they have gone above and beyond to create training resources. We recently attended a top-notch HFA Virtual Live Conference, where you felt like you were in the room with over 2,000 staff from around the world. It was exhilarating and re-energizing, and just what we needed to be inspired to keep trekking ahead. The overall theme of the conference was “Making Connections.” We were ungirded with a compassionate reminder that we are in this together to support staff, support families, and support systems. In addition, we received suggestions for onboarding new staff in this virtual environment. Not long ago, we added three new family support specialists, Michala Abrams, Paula Stratton, and Shardae’ Russell. Our new staff members come from various backgrounds, such as the medical field, mental health, substance abuse, community advocacy, and vocational support. We welcome our new staff to the HFD team!
