HOME VISITING: How to Fend off Morning Sickness

Share:

HV - How to Fend off Morning SicknessFirst thing first— “morning sickness” can hit you at any time of the day, and is usually experienced early in pregnancy. It is never a great feeling, but have no fear; there are ways to manage it:

  • Switch to eating 6 to 8 small meals a day.
  • Drink more water.
  • Always keep food in your stomach.
  • Avoid greasy and spicy foods.

If your morning sickness gets really bad, try eating high water content foods (for example: cucumbers, melons, and strawberries). You can also try ginger snaps and tart lemonade to reduce symptoms. The most important thing is to keep hydrated.

If you need help managing your morning sickness, Home Visiting specialists are ready to help. For more information on Home Visiting and to learn how to enroll, call the Help Me Grow 2-1-1 line, or send Help Me Grow a text at: 302-231-1464.
