lt has been my honor to spend 23 years as Program Supervisor for Parents as Teachers, NCCo. This experience has been exhilarating and fulfilling. I am humbled by the support I’ve received since announcing my retirement from the Christina School District. Stepping away for self-care and family time has provided reflection, fond memories, and insights. Rest assured, the NCCo leadership team will continue the efficient operation of our Blue-Ribbon Affiliate Program.
Our Dream Team has managed the program’s operations since I became principal in 2019. Our dedicated staff consistently serves children and families, maintaining enrollment, ensuring service excellence, exceeding expectations, and securing funding. Many of us have worked together for years, blessed with the health and vitality to continue this transformative work.
I am proud of our collective efforts to create a thriving early learning environment. My appointment to Stubbs Early Education and Dual Generation Center expanded our reach, allowing us to offer more resources, including social services, financial literacy, employment services, adult education, counseling, and a teacher resource center. I take pride in fostering an innovative educational safe space that emphasizes the benefits of educating parents and children simultaneously. In unity, we inform, impact, and empower children, families, teachers, and community partners.
May you continue to serve, advocate, and amplify voices, as well as exemplify equity, creativity, confidence, and compassion. These qualities create a roadmap for making a real difference in education in Delaware for generations to come. This is not the end of our collaboration but a new beginning for me in a different season of life.
With gratitude and love,
Whitney Williams, EdD
