Mom working toward GED

Katrina Johnson, one of our newest parent educators, has hit the ground running. She has invited her families to come to Stubbs and the Dual Generation Center to access the many resources and support services offered there.

The photo above shows a mom at Stubbs for GED classes. Free childcare is offered, and Alice is celebrating her second birthday at the library.  The photo below shows another family enjoying a creative moment with crayons and Duplos at the Wilmington Early Care and Education Council Resource Room at Stubbs. Katrina has helped a pregnant mom who was suddenly homeless and her 3-year-old autistic child find housing and critical support. This mom is exceptionally grateful for the support Katrina has shared, as she had no personal support in her life.

Krystal Reyna Grubjesic and Barbara Berganzo-Pabon will be presenting a workshop at the Parents as Teachers National Conference in October. They will be covering Intimate Partner Violence (IPV), and the workshop will be in Spanish.
