Home visiting professionals across Delaware are invited to mark their calendars for the upcoming January through June 2026 wraparound training series offered through Prevent Child Abuse Delaware (PCAD).
The upcoming theme lineup will include:
- Prenatal Support
- Motivational Interviewing
- Child Abuse and Neglect 101 (with an informative panel)
- Safety During Home Visits
- Fatherhood Engagement
Dates and times will be announced soon. In addition to these thematic trainings, PCAD will launch a new workgroup in 2026 to support development of Delaware’s home visiting competencies. This workgroup will bring together professionals from across the home visiting field to brainstorm and cocreate a Competency Document for Delaware Home Visiting. These will be a shared set of expectations around knowledge, skills, and attributes that reflect best practices for home visiting professionals across the state. By aligning training opportunities and program competencies across different models, PCAD’s goal is to ensure that families receive the best possible support, no matter which home visiting program they’re in.
An interest form will be distributed soon to anyone who wishes to join the workgroup.
Stay tuned and plan for an enriching first half of 2026 where training, collaboration, and professional growth come together to strengthen Delaware’s home visiting workforce.
