Safety Kits

As a follow-up to the Home Visitor Safety Training held in May, led by the Institute for Childhood Preparedness (ICP), the Division of Public Health (DPH) was pleased to provide Home Visitor Safety Kits to Delaware’s home visiting workforce.

Each kit was thoughtfully assembled to support the safety and preparedness of home visitors in the field. Items included:

  • Pen
  • Breakaway lanyard
  • Disposable gloves
  • First-aid kit
  • Personal safety, self-defense, security alarm
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Mini flashlight
  • Shoe covers
  • Notebook
  • Emergency contact card
  • Insect repellent wipes

These kits serve as a practical extension of safety training and reflect DPH’s continued commitment to supporting home visitors with the tools they need to stay safe while serving families across the state. DPH combines training with tangible resources, with the goal of helping home visitors feel more confident, prepared, and protected in various field situations — ultimately strengthening the quality and sustainability of services delivered to Delaware families.
