Senate Concurrent Resolution 53 Celebrated the Impact of Home Visiting Programs Statewide

In April, the Delaware General Assembly formally recognized the week of April 21–25, 2025, as National Home Visiting Week through the passage of Senate Concurrent Resolution 53. Introduced on April 17, 2025, and led by state Sen. Eric Buckson, the resolution honored the essential work of home visiting programs across the state.

With strong bipartisan backing, the resolution highlighted the vital role that home visiting plays in supporting Delaware families. Co-sponsors included state representatives Jones Giltner, Hilovsky, Ross Levin, and Vanderwende, along with state senators Hocker, Huxtable, Lawson, Lockman, Pettyjohn, Sokola, and Wilson.

Home visiting programs provide parenting education, promote early childhood development, and connect families with critical health and social services. These supports are particularly important for families in vulnerable or underserved communities. By investing in early interventions, Delaware continues to improve maternal and child health outcomes, reduce abuse and neglect, and increase school readiness.

Throughout the week, programs and community partners shared stories, hosted events, and raised awareness about the positive outcomes of home visiting. The resolution offered a meaningful platform to uplift the work being done across the state and underscored the importance of continued support and advocacy.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all home visiting professionals and stakeholders who helped make National Home Visiting Week a success in Delaware. Your dedication continues to build stronger families and healthier futures.
