The Delaware MIECHV-funded home visiting program, which consists of CFF/HFA and several of the PAT sites, recently completed another quarter of services and reporting. As of June 30, 2021, the program continues to support approximately 400 households, and it fares well on many of the process measures involving the early childhood setting and referrals. These include Early Language and Literacy, Parent-Child Interaction, Developmental Screening (screening and referral), and Intimate Partner Violence (screening and referral). However, the program still struggles concerning the percentage of eligible enrollees who report breastfeeding.

Starting this fall, we’ll also place greater emphasis on tobacco cessation referrals. Additionally, the CFF/HFA and PAT sites have made considerable progress in improving safe-sleep practices. They will continue to do so via consistent and sound communication with enrollees as well as documentation of their thoughts and behaviors in the enrollee record. Overall, we are pleased to see that the MIECHV program keeps serving Delaware families, and we appreciate everyone involved in building and maintaining its success! Thanks, and please let me know if you have any questions.
