Brewing Connections

New Directions Early Head Start prioritizes staff wellness and team bonding with monthly 30-minute virtual coffee breaks. These casual gatherings offer a refreshing space to discuss hobbies, books, movies, and more, fostering connections and a break from work-focused discussions.

The positive impact of these sessions has been clear, with the management team fully supporting their continuation. Coffee breaks help build stronger relationships, reveal unique skills and styles, and foster engagement and retention among staff.

When asked what these breaks mean to them, team members shared words like:

  • “Relaxation”
  • “A chance to know each other better”
  • “Talking about hobbies, pets, and non-work topics”
  • “Time to share and connect”

So, brew your coffee, pour some tea, and join in for a few minutes of laughter, sharing, and connection. These brief moments leave a lasting impact.
