SUPPORT Act Planning/Grant/Start Initiative

SUPPORT stands for the Substance Use-Disorder Prevention that Promotes Opioid Recovery and Treatment for Patients and Communities Act. Delaware’s Division of Medicaid and Medical Assistance (DMMA) was awarded a SUPPORT planning grant from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to increase the capacity of Medicaid providers delivering substance use disorder treatment or recovery services to Medicaid beneficiaries.

Eat, Sleep, Console

ChristianaCare is currently participating in an NIH-sponsored research study titled Eating, Sleeping, and Consoling for Neonatal Opioid Withdrawal: A Function-Based Assessment and Management Approach. A new assessment tool has been developed for infants experiencing withdrawal in the hospital, and the goal is to determine the best care for these babies.
