I would like to highlight my home visitor, Kyo Romisch. She’s one of several staff who have been recording and sharing home visits with her families with Parents National Center, as part of the 20/20 Video Series designed to offer support to other home visitors in the field on best practices with virtual home visiting. She was asked to continue to share her videos with the National Center on an ongoing basis, due to their quality. Kyo was also asked to participate in a project with PBS in St. Louis around home visiting! She’s also been recently asked to share her thoughts about autism services and more in Delaware with Peggy Geisler from Sussex County Health Coalition, and will be presenting their conversation with Sheppard Pratt in the early summer. Kyo carries a full case load of families and engages in all training to best support her families! She is a model home visitor and is now training to be a mentor with new home visitors. We are proud to have her on the DECC PAT team!

Success story: Many families in New Directions Early Head Start and Parents as Teachers have been getting jobs, going back to school, fixing credit, and starting businesses — and children are getting necessary evaluations and services for school.

Resources: Home visitor and financial coach Lori Hurst-Farrell partnered with UD New Directions Early Head Start home visitors to provide a weekly financial literacy workshop. It was presented in both English and Spanish. If you are interested in joining future groups or referring a family for financial support, email Lori at Lori.Hurstfarrell@lf.k12.de.us.
