Healthy Families Delaware (HFD) has completely transitioned to “virtual visits” to continue supporting our families. We are working with our IT department to move all clients to virtual as soon as possible. We were able to deliver supplies such as diapers, wipes, and Cribs for Kids pack n plays last week. Our family support specialists are providing families with COVID-19 education via text or email, after having a thorough conversation about it as well as the importance of social distancing, proper hand hygiene, and symptoms to report.

Our team is also diligently working on making sure each client has all the resources needed during this time and keeping them up to date on any resources that may be coming out (again by call, text, email, and even mail). We are making sure we discuss the family’s mental health needs during this time, providing support and encouraging self-care. Our families are also parents of multiple children, so we have developed a list of great school/educational resources along with a daily schedule for kids to follow while they are at home and out of school. Last week’s transition to “virtual visits” was quick, but our team made a very smooth transition for our families, and it is working very well.
