What is Family SHADE?

Family SHADE stands for the Family Support and Healthcare Alliance Delaware. It is an alliance of organizations, agencies, and families committed to working together. Family SHADE has one goal: to improve the quality of life for children with special health care needs and their families. Whether parents, caregivers, or those who provide support services for children are looking for a provider or a program, Family SHADE has it.

Family SHADE:

  • Connects you with services, providers, and organizations by searching the Family SHADE database
  • Links you to resources in areas such as Community Life, Education, Diagnosis, and Early Childhood
  • Helps you find out about events and activities or peer support groups in your area
  • Helps you find qualified dental care for your children
