Are you feeling overwhelmed about your new role as a parent? Are you worried about providing the best possible care for your baby? Help Me Grow and Home Visiting are two programs that work together to help your baby succeed. Both programs can connect you with the right services, programs, and information to provide extra support for you and your baby.
Help Me Grow is a partnership of many organizations that care about the well-being of children and families. By dialing 2-1-1 or sending a text message to 302-231-1464, you can connect with the 2-1-1 Help Me Grow hotline. Through the 2-1-1 Help Me Grow hotline, a child development specialist can connect you with dozens of programs to help your child. In addition to connecting you with community-based programs and services in your area, Help Me Grow can also answer questions about your baby’s physical, emotional, or behavioral development.
If you are someone that benefits more from face-to-face interaction, the Home Visiting Program might be for you. Once you join the Home Visiting Program, a nurse or parent support specialist will visit your home at a time that works for you. They can teach you a variety of skills such as how to care for your newborn and how to help you have a healthy pregnancy. The Home Visiting program can work with you and your baby from the time of your pregnancy until your child reaches the age of 5.
Both Help Me Grow and Home Visiting understand the questions and challenges that becoming a parent can bring, and will provide you with answers and assistance. Both programs are ready to help you as soon as you contact them and are absolutely free. For details on how to contact these programs and for more information, check out http://dethrives.com/programs.
